POLICE have launched an appeal for information following the death of a 93-year-old man who was struck by a car in Kilmarnock.
The collision, which involved the pensioner and a green BMW 525 tds Touring, took place at around 2.40pm on Wednesday, November 19.
Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital, where he died on Thursday, November 20.
The road was closed for almost seven hours to allow for investigations to take place and re-opened at around 9.30pm.
Sergeant Brian Simpson, Ayrshire Roads Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died as a result of this crash.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.
“I would also appeal for anyone who was in the area and has dash cam or private CCTV footage which could assist to get in touch.”
