THERE are “severe” delays on the M53 this morning (Wednesday, December 17) after a car overturned.
Cheshire Police were called at 7.23am to reports of a collision on the M53 southbound between junctions 10 (Cheshire Oaks) and 11 (M56).
It is reported that the crash involved two vehicles and that there are no serious injuries.
There are severe delays and closures.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “Cheshire Police At 7.23am on Wednesday 17 December, police were called to reports of a collision on the M53 southbound between junctions 10 (Cheshire Oaks) and 11 (M56).
“Officers are in attendance at the scene if the collision, which involved two vehicles.
“There are no reports of any serious injuries, but recovery work is underway.
“One lane is currently closed and there are delays in the local area.”
A National Highways spokesperson said: “On the M53 southbound, there is a lane closed between J10 and J11 (Stoak) due to a collision resulting in an overturned car. J10 southbound entry slip road is also closed. Delays in excess of 45 minutes, approx. 5 miles of congestion.”
