A police car ploughed through a wall and into the front garden of a home in Lincoln. Two officers in a marked Linconshire Police car were responding to a call on blue lights when they crashed into the garden wall of a home on Newport earlier today (Wednesday, September 24).
Pictures from the scene show the car crashed into the wall and a telephone line on the road. The bonnet of the car was crushed with the front wheels facing the wrong way.
The two officers suffered minor injuries in the crash. Newport was closed by Lincolnshire Police, with a cordon being in place.
Speaking previously, a spokesperson from Lincolnshire Police said: "We will be closing Newport in Lincoln for a short while so we can recover a marked police car following collision.

A man, who lives across the road and asked not to be named, said he saw a damaged car being taken away from the scene.
He said: "I heard an almighty thud and knew there had been a crash. I'm not surprised there's been an accident from the way vehicles tear down this road.
"There's a damaged Toyota been taken away with the passenger door caved in – I'm not sure if it was chasing it at the time or not."
A neighbour on Newport said they heard a 'big crunch' before seeing what had happened. The also said there were two or three ambulances here earlier.
Another said: "There were no sirens – the first we knew of it was when there was a big crunch."
The whole of Broadgate is closed, and Newport is shut around this junction.
The owner of the house was called by his wife after the police car crashed into the wall.
He said: "I was at the shops when I got a call from my wife to say the garden wall had been demolished. The top of the wall flew 15ft.
"It's lucky no pedestrians were walking by or they would have been badly hurt. The police have spoken to my wife, and I'm going to have to claim off insurance.
"It's made a right mess of the garden, and BT are going to have to replace the telegraph pole. You don't expect this on Newport, it's a prestigious street."
