Police are still searching for several people who allegedly stole a car using a firearm, though they have lifted a lockdown that closed several Sunshine Coast streets.
A police spokesperson said they were first called to Old Caloundra Road at Glenview, near Caloundra, at around 11am after reports that the stolen red four wheel drive crashed and its occupants fled into nearby bushland.
"[The car] was reportedly stolen near a business on the Bruce Highway at Morayfield around 5.45am, with the vehicle's driver reportedly threatened with a firearm," the police spokesperson said.
"Due to potential officer and public safety concerns, an emergency declaration was declared at 12:55pm.
"Specialist officers attended the scene and conducted a search of the nearby area, where a firearm was located abandoned."
The spokesperson said the emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA), which closed several local streets, was revoked just after 3pm.
"Both the stolen Mitsubishi and the firearm have been seized for forensic testing," they said.
"Investigations into both incidents are ongoing, and anyone who may have any relevant information or video footage are urged to come forward."
No-one has been hurt and no shots have been fired.
Specialist police are on the property following the emergency declaration.
