NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Police in Nashville are asking the public for help locating the vehicle involved in a deadly New Year’s Day hit-and-run.
The crash happened Thursday at 1:30 a.m. outside a Hermitage Avenue bar, per a press release from the Metro Nashville Police Department.
A red or maroon vehicle that police believe may be a Ford Mustang was seen speeding away from the crash there. It hit a 23-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man as they were standing on the sidewalk preparing to enter a rideshare vehicle.
The woman, identified as Afriye Seegars of Nashville, died at the scene of the crash and the man is hospitalized in critical condition, per MNPD.
“Anyone with information about the driver or vehicle (photo attached) is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463,” the police press release said. “Callers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.”
