A man has fled after being disturbed while breaking into a house in the Barossa Valley today.
About 11.40 am today 28 October, police were called to a house in Alf Pellegrini Drive in Tanunda after reports of a break-in.
The victim saw the man inside her house and immediately alerted her neighbour.
The man was last seen climbing over a fence and getting into a dark Subaru Forrester with a bike rack on the rear. At the time the car was showing a registration number of S486BER which have been confirmed as stolen plates.
Police believe an amount of jewellery was taken from the address and is still outstanding.
The car has also been linked to a recent petrol drive-off which occurred the day before at Aldinga.
Police ask anyone who may have witnessed the event or has any CCTV or dash cam that may assist with the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au – you can remain anonymous.
