Power lines have been brought down and a pedestrian is recovering in hospital after a serious crash in the Adelaide Hills.
A man was hit by a car on Onkaparinga Valley Rd in Oakbank about 7.10am on Monday.
The 76-year-old pedestrian, from Mount Barker, was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Bystanders rushed to help the man when power lines fell dangerously close to the scene.
The car had hit a nearby stobie pole, causing the power lines to fall shortly after the crash.
Local horse trainer Kelly Randford was nearby when she heard the impact.
“I just heard the thud and then a woman screaming,” she told 7NEWS.
“I think it was the driver — she was taking her daughter to school. They were both hysterical.”
Randford said she raced home to grab towels and blankets to help stop the man’s bleeding.
“I just started counting his pulse and breaths while my neighbour Tim called the ambulance,” she said.
But as they worked to help the man, disaster struck again, as the power lines above the crashed car came down.
“A big gust of wind came through and brought all the power lines down — right where we were standing,” Randford said.
“There was a massive pop and sparks started raining down on us.”
Several other locals also stopped to assist.
The man was in a serious condition when paramedics arrived, Randford said.
Nearby business Karkoo Nursery confirmed it would be closed for the day, with the town’s main street shut as crews responded to the incident and power was lost in the area.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with those impacted in the crash,” the business wrote on Facebook.
The driver of the Kia SUV, a 55-year-old woman from the Adelaide Hills, was uninjured.
Major Crash Investigators attended to examine the scene and are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
Drivers were urged to avoid the area with Onkaparinga Valley Road closed and diversions in place.
Power has since been restored.
