A pub is set to be shut for the foreseeable future after a car ploughed through one of its walls this evening.
Pictures show a silver Jaguar vehicle deeply embedded into the side of the Three Horsehoes pub in Deal, with emergency services at the scene.
The incident in Mongeham Road saw the route blocked in both directions, causing delays.
A fire service spokesman said: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to assist Kent Police with a car collision at The Three Horseshoes Pub.
“One fire engine is in attendance, and crews are currently working to make the scene safe.
A police spokesman added: “Kent Police was called at 3.10pm to a report that a car had struck a building in Mongeham Road.
“Officers are currently attending the scene alongside other emergency services, where minor injuries were reported.
“Roads surrounding the incident were closed whilst emergency services attended, but they have since been reopened.”
Bosses have now told KentOnline they have no idea how long it will take to fix the boozer, which dates back to 1735.
Although it’s not listed, they say it will require a full and lengthy and complicated rebuild just to get it to the same state due to the conservation area.
Contractors are currently on site to make the watering hole safe and secure before starting to look at the full extent of the damage.
However, the whole building has been described as not usable, while the rest of the pub will not reopen.
It comes less than three weeks after another vehicle went into The Pilot Inn in Dungeness.
