The 2026 Kiger benefits from a mild facelift, four and a half years after its debut in India
Not long after the updated Renault Triber minivan made its debut, the spotlight has shifted to its sibling, the Kiger. The subcompact SUV has now received a mid-cycle update in India, bringing sharper styling touches and modest tech improvements while keeping its budget-friendly positioning intact.

The Kiger first entered the market in 2021, targeting the competitive sub-4m SUV segment that continues to thrive in India. Four and a half years later, this refresh arrives to keep the model looking current as fresh rivals crowd the segment.
Exterior Tweaks
The most noticeable change is at the front, where a redesigned bumper introduces a slimmer grille, a more pronounced skid plate, and sculpted details. The split headlight setup carries over but now incorporates additional fog lamps.
The profile remains pretty much unchanged, although Renault did add new graphics on the doors and the C-pillar, alongside a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels for the range-topping trim. The rear bumper has also been redesigned with a different skid plate and fake inlets.
Cabin Updates
The cabin layout remains largely the same, though it now features a white dashboard trim, updated upholstery choices, the latest Renault emblem on the steering wheel, and better insulation for a quieter ride. The familiar 8-inch infotainment screen is still in place, but in higher trims it can be paired with extras like a 360-degree camera, an Arkamys audio system, wireless charging, and ventilated front seats in the Emotion grade.

Unfortunately, entry-level Authentic misses out on the above features, as it has a small storage slot in the place of the display and no buttons on the steering wheel. At least all trims now come standard with six airbags, hill start assist, and rear parking sensors.
Powertrains And Pricing
Built on the CMFA+ platform, the Kiger continues with the same non-electrified gasoline options and front-wheel-drive layout. The standard engine is a naturally aspirated 1.0-liter three-cylinder producing 71 hp (53 kW / 72 PS), while the turbocharged version delivers 99 hp (74 kW / 100 PS). Transmission choices include a five-speed manual, an optional AMT for the base engine, and a CVT for the turbocharged variant.
The facelifted Renault Kiger is already available to order in India. Prices for the entry-level Authentic trim with the naturally-aspirated engine and the manual start at Rs 6.30 lakh ($7,200), which is only Rs 15,000 ($170) more compared to its predecessor. On the other end of the spectrum, the flagship Emotion with the turbo engine and the CVT is priced at Rs 11.30 lakh ($12,900).
Rivals of the Kiger in the sub-4m SUV segment include the likes of the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Exter, Citroen New C3, Nissan Magnite, Suzuki Fronx, and more.
