A "serious collision" on the M4 caused severe delays on Wednesday evening.
The accident took place between junctions 47 to 46, and involved a lorry and a car.
A statement from South Wales Police read: "South Wales Police were called at 3.50pm to reports a collision between a lorry and a car on the M4 eastbound between junctions 47-46."
It resulted in gridlocked traffic in the area for hours, with congestion to junction 48 (Hendy / Llanelli).
Traffic was also slow on the opposite side due to onlookers, and there were queues of traffic on the A483.
