Traffic was snarled along eastbound Interstate 10 near Palm Springs following a seven-car collision Thursday that left two people with serious injuries.
Cal Fire said the crash occurred shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday at the Main Street on-ramp in Cabazon, with one car reportedly rolling off the freeway. Two people involved sustained serious injuries and were transported by ambulance to local area hospitals. Three additional people who reported minor injuries were also transported to a local hospital, according to Cal Fire.
Radar showed traffic slowing to a near standstill Tuesday afternoon in the immediate area of the crash. In an update around 3 p.m., Cal Fire said some lanes of Interstate 10 will remain closed for another half-hour.
