At least seven persons were killed and 15 others were injured in an accident at the Navale Bridge in Maharashtra’s Pune district on Thursday (November 13, 2025).
The incident occurred around 5.30 p.m. on Bengaluru-Mumbai National Highway 4, when a container truck rammed into other vehicles, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police Sambhaji Kadam. In the impact, over 20 vehicles dashed into one another.
Following the collision, several vehicles caught fire, causing seven fatalities. The 15 injured persons were hospitalised.
Fire tenders and a team of firefighters reached the spot and doused the fire. “The bodies of two men, two women, and a girl, were taken out from the container truck and that of two men from a car,” said the Pune Fire Department officials.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced a financial assistance of ₹5 lakh to the families of the deceased. He called the incident “unfortunate” and posted on X, “I pay my heartfelt tributes to the people who lost their lives in this incident. We share the grief of their families.”
Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) leader and MP Supriya Sule also expressed grief over the accident.” “The injured are undergoing treatment, and I pray to God that they recover soon and return home,” Ms. Sule said in an X post.
