Seven new cars and Sebring have been teased for Project Motor Racing’s v1.0 release, with the Nissan Z GT4 and Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R headlining.
Seven new cars and Sebring International Raceway have been confirmed for Straight4 Studios’ upcoming sim, Project Motor Racing.
Set for release on the 25th of November on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, PMR is set to cover the full gamut of motorsport, with the latest car reveals focusing on top-level sports car racing.
Following on from the announcement of its IMSA tie-in, Straight4 has revealed that the Mercedes-AMG GT3, Nissan Z GT4, Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo, Acura NSX GT3 Evo 22, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R and Mazda MX-5 Spec will all be coming to the game’s v1.0 release, with each car featuring under the IMSA umbrella of championships in some form.
The 12 Hours of Sebring endurance event is one of the IMSA SportsCar Championship’s lynchpins, with the track previously teased for inclusion in PMR’s previous guise as GTRevival.
The Floridian venue joins other classic North American circuits in PMR, like Mosport and Lime Rock P,ark in the game.
Both the Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo and Nissan Z GT4 are oddities in the world of sim racing, having yet to appear officially in any hardcore sims.
However, PMR will have both, and they will form part of the game’s ever-expanding GT4 class, which also includes the Ford Mustang, Aston Martin Vantage, Audi R8 and Mercedes-AMG GT4 cars.
The Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo has been usurped by an EVO2 version for 2025, though.
PMR’s GT3 class also continues to grow, with the Acura NSX GT3 Evo 22, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R and Mercedes-AMG GT3 joining the incumbent Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo 2, Ford Mustang GT3, Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2, Aston Martin Vantage GT3 and Porsche 911 GT3 R (992.1).
This means only the Lexus RC-F GT3, BMW M4 GT3 Evo, Ferrari 296 GT3 and McLaren 720S GT3 Evo are missing to allow for the full 2025 IMSA GTD grid in PMR.
The Mazda 787B, which famously became the first rotary-engined car to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1991, will also be added to the game, complementing the previously revealed Group C Porsche 962C.
Although it did not race in IMSA, the 787B became a cult hit with fans, and raced in both the Japanese and World Sportscar Championships until the end of ‘91.
The Mazda MX-5 Cup supports IMSA categories across America, providing intense competition and wheel-to-wheel racing via its single-make format. PMR’s MX-5 is sure to provide the perfect gateway to the game’s innovative new multiplayer system.
PMR’s multiplayer features were previewed in Straight4’s latest video trailer for the Tokyo Game Show, highlighting that no extra subscription fees are required to play the game online. More information on this can be found in our companion article here.
