Police said officers located the car in the area of Flanders and North Main streets, prompting them to deploy tire deflation devices that successfully rendered the vehicle inoperable.
The driver and passenger then fled the car on foot after pulling into a shopping plaza on Queen Street, police said. Officials said the driver was quickly taken into custody while the passenger fled through a restaurant and into a nearby Walmart.
“Officers continued to give chase where the passenger was taken into custody after an officer successfully deployed their taser,” police said.
Police said one of the juveniles reported an injury and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation before being released. Officials said officers searched the car and found a flashlight, screwdriver and items believed to have been taken from motor vehicle burglaries in the area.
