Deputies are searching for the driver after a stolen car crashed on N. Main Street in Fuquay-Varina early Thursday morning.
According to the Wake County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a report of a stolen vehicle along U.S. Highway 401 and N.C. Highway 540.

Deputies tried to stop a speeding car matching the descripton of the stolen vehicle, but the driver refused to stop. The chase continued to N. Main Street in Fuquay-Varina, and deputies said the driver crashed and ran from the crash scene.
No one was injured in the single-car crash.
The WRAL Breaking News Tracker captured video of debris scattered across the street. There was damage to a wall and a lamp post. The car was badly damaged and pushed up against a utility pole.
The driver has not been located. Anyone with information that would assist in the investigation is asked to call the Wake County Sheriff’s Office at 919-856-6911.
