The Japanese automaker is bringing back a bold special-edition for a pair of eye-catching limited-run releases.

Since the debut of the first-generation BRZ back in 2012, Subaru has given its pocket-sized sports car a series of special makeovers through eye-catching and exclusive color releases.
Be it the bold World Rally hue of the Series.Blue or the more understated Galaxy Pearl paint of the Series.Purple, in each case, the brand has kept the runs limited to just a few hundred cars.
With Boxerfest on the horizon, Subaru has announced that the BRZ will be reprising one of its boldest looks yet through the return of its striking Series.Yellow. Even more exclusive in number, it’ll be joined by another one of the brand’s beloved sports cars.
Subaru has previously shod its BRZ in a shade of Sunrise Yellow, though it was a treatment of the first-generation model, and it was exclusive to Japan.
For the 2026 model year, the automaker is bringing the bright sports car stateside. It will be even more limited in number; just 350 examples will be built in total compared to the previous run of 500.
If you’re among the lucky few who manage to get their hands on a Series.Yellow BRZ, know that it makes for quite the complete sports car. Beneath the bold exterior upgrades — like the paint and the matte black wheels — it’s based on the tS trim level.
As such, even though the 228-pony 2.4-liter boxer engine goes untouched, it rides on some STI-tuned front and rear Hitachi dampers, with a set of Brembo brakes taking care of stopping power.
Complemented by some interior yellow accents in the stitching throughout the upholstery, instrument panel and door panels, it’s a sharp look, to say the least.
If you’re in need of something a little more ‘practical,’ don’t fret — Subaru is extending the Series.Yellow treatment to the WRX this year. The highly limited S207 is the only other time the car has seen such a bright color.
Like its stablemate, it’ll be limited to just 350 examples, and each one will sport a coat of Sunrise Yellow paint with matte black wheels. It’ll also benefit from the STI goodies and various other component upgrades.
Of course, where the BRZ is a compact coupe, the WRX offers the benefit of two additional doors, all-wheel drive and an additional 43 horsepower.
If you’re a tech fan, you’ll also be glad to know that the latest version of Subaru’s enduring icon doesn’t skimp when it comes to the user interface. Along with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, it packs an 11.6-inch multimedia infotainment system.
Subaru hasn’t stated how much either Series.Yellow sports car will cost. However, given the exclusivity of each model, MSRP will likely start a bit higher than that of the for the 2025 BRZ tS ($36,245) and 2025 WRX tS ($47,705).
