The Suzuki Victoris is closely related to the Grand Vitara but features a distinct exterior design and more generous equipment
For decades now, Suzuki has been carving out a niche for itself with a strategy centered on compact city cars and small SUVs, each model differentiated more by personality than by size. That approach continues with its latest debut in India, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, which shares much of its footprint with the Grand Vitara but sets itself apart with distinct styling cues and a richer set of features inside.

The Victoris stretches to 4,360 mm (171.7 inches) in length, 1,795 mm (70.7 inches) in width, and 1,655 mm (65.2 inches) in height. Compared with the Grand Vitara, it is just 15 mm taller and 10 mm wider, while both sit on an identical 2,600 mm (102.4 inches) wheelbase. While European standards would classify the Victoris as a subcompact SUV, in India it takes on the role of Suzuki’s flagship model.
New Design Direction
Although its size mirrors the Grand Vitara, the Victoris wears entirely new sheet metal. Up front, it sports larger LED headlights, a slim grille, and bumper intakes that flow together above a discreet skid plate.
The side profile is marked by squared-off wheel arches framing 17-inch alloys, while a slightly altered greenhouse adds a touch of distinction. At the rear, full-width LED taillights draw attention, their shape recalling the futuristic treatment seen on the Kia .
Inside, the Victoris stands apart with a dashboard centered around a 10.1-inch infotainment screen set high on the console. Textured upholstery and a panoramic sunroof enhance the cabin, while premium touches for the Indian market include 64-color ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, a Harman audio system with Dolby Atmos, a 360-degree camera, Alexa integration, and a hands-free powered tailgate. It is also the first Maruti Suzuki to feature Level 2 driver-assistance systems.
In typical Suzuki fashion, the exterior is available in single-tone and bi-tone shades, while the interior has a black and ivory finish. Furthermore, the optional Raffine Package adds dark chrome accents to the exterior, along with a wood finish, special floor mats, and illuminated sills inside the cabin.

Under the skin, the Victoris rides on the same Heartect platform as the Grand Vitara and mirrors its powertrain lineup. Choices include mild-hybrid, full hybrid, and bi-fuel (gasoline/CNG) setups.
The most potent model is the Strong Hybrid, pairing a 1.5-liter engine with an electric motor for a combined 114 hp (85 kW / 116 PS) and 141 Nm (104 lb-ft) of torque. This version sends power through a six-speed automatic to Suzuki’s Allgrip Select all-wheel-drive system.
Market Position
Maruti Suzuki has yet to announce pricing for the Victoris in India, but is already accepting pre-orders with a Rs 11,000 ($125) deposit. The model will be likely priced above the Grand Vitara that currently retails between ₹13.35-23.86 Lakh ($15,200-27,100).
Whether the model will expand beyond India remains uncertain, but for now it represents Suzuki’s most feature-rich SUV for the domestic market.
