A 14-year-old girl from Brunswick Heads has died at the scene of a three-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway.
The highway remains closed in both directions at Apple Tree Creek, 320 kilometres north of Brisbane.
Police said a Volvo prime mover was travelling north on the Bruce Highway before 2am when it collided with a Mazda CX5 and a Toyota Hilux, travelling south.
The 14-year-old girl was a passenger in the Mazda. The 22-year-old female driver from Sarina was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The 22-year-old male driver of the Toyota, also from Sarina, and the 31-year-old driver of the prime mover, from Park Ridge, were not injured.
The death takes the Queensland road toll to 237, compared to 223 deaths at the same time last year.
The highway is expected to remain closed into the evening while the Forensic Crash Unit investigates.
Police are appealing to the public for further information or relevant dash cam footage.
