Olivia Richwald reports from a police cordon near Tadcaster Grammar School
Olivia Richwald
Reporter, BBC Yorkshire

Very few details have emerged yet of what happened this afternoon.
I can tell you that there is a large cordon in place which covered three roads close to Tadcaster Grammar School.
We’ve seen two vehicles behind that cordon – one a small pale-coloured car with what looks like a dented front bumper.
The second is larger, perhaps a van or a small bus. It is behind a tarpaulin.
Police remain guarding the scene tonight.
I’m standing next to a police van with flashing blue lights.
We are adjacent to the Tadcaster Grammar School bus park.
The main entrance to the school is not affected by the cordon.
The road is quiet and it’s not a residential area so there isn’t anyone around, except the odd car which is driving up to the road closure signs and turning around.
Crash investigations continue into the evening on Toulston Lane.

Police vehicles at the cordon around Tadcaster Grammar School

There are at least half a dozen police vehicles here at the moment around the cordon locations.
They have been some arriving and leaving all the time.
As I arrived at the scene, I saw a group of a schoolchildren being walked away from the school, I imagine to get on their school buses.
It is difficult to see what has happened because the cordon is so large but I have seen what appears to be a vehicle with flashing amber lights surrounded by green tarpaulin.
Yorkshire Air Ambulance confirms both its helicopters had attended the incident.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service has also been contacted for a statement.
