Local news:
A teenager is dead and another seriously injured after the car they were travelling in collided with a truck on a major highway in Queensland.
Two men, both 18, were in a Mitsubishi Lancer sedan travelling southbound on the Bruce Highway when it crashed with a semi-trailer turning onto Sams Road in Mount Pleasant about 1am on Saturday.
The man from Mount Pleasant suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other man, from Blacks Beach, sustained significant life-threatening head injuries and was rushed to Mackay Base Hospital.

The truck driver, a man in his 30s, was uninjured and declined to be taken to hospital, Queensland Ambulance said.
Investigations are ongoing, and anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to come forward.
