A TEENAGER has died and a second person has escaped uninjured following a late-night crash in Cork.
The single-vehicle incident occurred at Scarteen Lower, in Newmarket at around 11.20pm last night.

The male, in his late teens, was killed when the car he was driving left the road and collided with a ditch.
The body of the driver has been taken to the mortuary in Cork University Hospital, where a post-mortem will take place.
The uninjured male passenger is also in is late teens.
The road is closed today as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carry out an examination of the scene.

And Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to make contact with them.
They are especially interested in speaking to anyone who may have footage.
A spokesperson said: “Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Scarteen Lower, Newmarket, Cork late on Saturday night, 11th October 2025.
“The collision occurred shortly after 11.20 pm last night when the vehicle left the road and collided with a ditch. The male driver, aged in his late teens was fatally injured.

“A male passenger, aged in his teens was uninjured. The body of the male driver has been removed from the scene to the mortuary in Cork University Hospital where a port mortem examination will take place in due course.
“A full forensic collision investigation will be carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators (FCI). The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place.”
Cops continuined: “Gardai at Mallow Garda Station are appealing to anyone who was travelling in the area at the time of the collision to contact them.
“Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) from that section of road during the relevant period are also asked to make it available to investigating officers.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Mallow Garda Station on 022 31 450, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
