The organiser of a car boot sale says she was “terrified” and shocked no one was killed after a man drove at speed through a row of car booters.
Police were called to Needham Market Car Boot at around 8.35am on Wednesday, following reports of a minor collision involving a white Ford Kuga and a pedestrian.
It was reported the driver of the car, a man, had been selling vapes before leaving the site by car through the crowd and caused damage to items at another stand.
Janice Lilley, who organises Needham Market car boot sale, described how the car travelled through rows of car booters before “speeding” out of the field when a loud bang was heard.

“I thought someone had been hit and my head was spinning.
“I was absolutely terrified.”
Police confirmed that one person, a man aged in his 20s, sustained minor injuries to his hand after attempting to stop the vehicle but declined medical treatment following the incident.
“It’s amazing that someone wasn’t killed”, the car boot sale organised said.
“I’ve never ever seen anything like that happen.
“A lot of our visitors were traumatised, especially the younger visitors and families.
“It made people think of what happened in Liverpool.”
Police are conducting enquiries to locate the vehicle and identify the driver.
There were no further reported injuries, and the ambulance service was not called to the scene.
Anyone with information relating to the incident should contact Suffolk police quoting CAD 48 of 20 August.
