The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles opened a new regional service center in southwest Houston on Dec. 10.
For anyone who dreads waiting in line at the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, some relief has come to Houston as the state agency has opened a new regional service center in southwest Houston. 
The new facility at 11720 West Airport Blvd. in Meadows Place opened Monday, providing several services such as providing replacement and bonded titles, handling title history inquires, registration of motor carriers and vehicle transfer notifications, according to a new release by the DMV.

The agency said the addition of the facility is a response to the demands of a "state's fastest-growing regions," the release states. 
The new South Regional Service Center will serve people in Brazoria, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Matagorda, and Wharton counties. It will include 19 service windows, a spacious waiting area as well as parking for both cars and trucks.
In fiscal year 2025, the DMV served more than 139,000 customers in the Houston area.
