BHPian Dippy recently shared this with other enthusiasts:
When we buy a car, the colour we choose is one of the most important factors during the purchase. Compared to more than a decade ago, the number of colours offered on a car has increased multiple-fold, giving the buyer more choice. At times, we are even ready to wait to get the car in a particular colour.
When I decided to buy the Thar, I really liked the Rocky Beige shade. However, that was discontinued by the time I decided to buy it. That time, Everest White was offered only in the RWD, and I prayed for it to come in the 4×4. Fortunately, it came by the time I booked my car.
Coming back to the topic of this thread, with so many car models and colours on offer, which manufacturer do you think has the best colour palette?
For me, it has to be Tata Motors. Their recent palettes have some unique and funky shades. Also, I love the names they use. For example: Munnar Mist and Coorg Clouds in the Tata Sierra. I also liked the new Caramel shade in the Punch facelift.

It’s really nice to see manufacturers moving away from traditional colours on cars in their portfolio. Even the Mahindra 7XO has some interesting shades.
Here’s what BHPian ashis89 replied:
Yes, Tata has offered a nice range of colors. But they have also withdrawn them abruptly, whether due to lack of demand or otherwise.
The Camo and special edition colors were removed. The brilliant metallic yellow on the Tiago was short-lived. Even the metallic red of the gen 1 Nexon made way for a flat red on the refresh.
That said, it is interesting to see most OEMs start offering new never seen before color palettes. The new 7xO has new brilliant shades, the Victoris had a new launch shade and so did the new Kodiaq.
