A new AI system from Bosch uses Nvidia chips and Microsoft tools to turn vehicles into self-learning, voice-driven companions for work and travel
Artificial intelligence is fast becoming a daily presence, reshaping everything from how we shop to how we work. Now it’s accelerating into the automotive world, and not just at the edges. At CES 2026, Bosch, the world’s largest automotive supplier, is set to reveal a new AI platform designed to make vehicles more connected and responsive than ever, drawing on a mix of emerging technologies.
Bosch’s AI-powered cockpit is pitched as a major shift, aiming to turn the car “from a simple means of transport into an intelligent, self-learning partner that understands the driver’s routines, preferences, and context.”
Rethinking the Driving Experience
For instance, the platform includes a newly developed voice assistant that doesn’t just respond to commands but can anticipate what the driver might need. Say “I’m feeling cold,” and the car could automatically warm the seat and raise the fan temperature without another prompt.

The company’s AI system is built on Nvidia’s Drive AGX Orin system-on-chip, capable of delivering up to 200 tera operations per second. This chip handles real-time sensor processing and supports advanced vision-language models, which allow the AI to reason across multiple steps and engage in more natural, flowing conversations.
Bosch also wants car owners to turn “unproductive downtime” in their vehicles into productive work time. To help make this happen, it is working with Microsoft and adding its Foundry platform, used for building, customizing, and managing AI applications and agents.
Microsoft Office On The Go
The system even includes access to the Microsoft 365 suite, integrated into the vehicle’s interface. In practice, this could mean that a driver can join a Microsoft Teams meeting with a simple voice command, while the car automatically activates adaptive cruise control to ease the driving workload.
The new AI platform from Bosch will be unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January. By 2030, Bosch is aiming to generate more than €2 billion worth of sales for in-vehicle infotainment solutions.
“The new AI extension platform enables existing cockpit systems to be quickly and easily upgraded with advanced AI functions,” chairman of Bosch mobility Markus Heyn said. “This makes the driving experience more comfortable, intuitive, and safer for all vehicle occupants.”
