Forget the Batmobileyou know. Forget the rocket-powered, tank-wheeled crime-fighting fortress that barrels through Gotham’s back alleys. In 2025, Batman has swapped his cape-swirling stealth machine for… an all-electric Indian SUV. Yes, you read that right! Meet the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition, the world’s first commercially available Batman-inspired SUV. And before you laugh, let me tell you — this thing is more Bruce Wayne billionaire chic than Adam West campy charm.
Limited to just 300 units and priced at around $30,000 in India, this is a pretty cool version of the already celebrated BE6 from Mahindra. The Indian car giant is paying a cinematic tribute to Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy, built for fans who want a little Gotham grit with their morning commute.
Before we get into it, it’s important to note that this is by no means a performance monster. Batman would never be caught behind the wheel of this vehicle. It packs up to 286 hp from its rear-mounted electric motor, with a choice of 59 kWh or 79 kWh batteries delivering an impressive 556–682 km (345-424 miles) range on a single charge. It has a pretty good top speed of about 120mph, but that’s about it. This batman edition is all about the design, and we still think it looks pretty cool, despite it’s Batman-level performance flaws.
The BE 6 Batman Edition is dressed in a Custom Satin Black paint so deep it looks like it could swallow the sun. You get 20-inch alloy wheels that practically growl at pedestrians, Alchemy Gold-painted brake calipers for that “rich vigilante” touch, and Bat emblems everywhere — hub caps, panels, windows, bumpers, even the rear windshield.
And when night falls? The “Night Trail” carpet lamps project The Dark Knight emblem onto the pavement, just in case you need to intimidate the valet guy. There’s even an infinity roof with the Bat emblem etched in — perfect for lying back and contemplating your sworn duty to fight crime… or just to watch Netflix.
Step inside, and you’ll feel like you’ve wandered into Bruce Wayne’s private lounge. Suede and leather upholstery with gold sepia stitching wraps around you like Alfred’s metaphorical hug. A brushed Alchemy Gold Batman Edition plaque sits proudly on the dash, reminding you that you’re driving a pretty cool collector’s item.
Even the buttons are in on the act: the “Boost” button features the Bat emblem, just in case you need to feel like you’re escaping Arkham Asylum. The infotainment system greets you with a Batman Edition welcome animation, and the car even has custom Batman-inspired exterior sounds — because why should Tesla owners have all the fun? Mahindra’s Chief Design & Creative Officer, Pratap Bose, put it best: “We wanted to create something so personal, so visually arresting, that owning it feels like owning a piece of cinematic history.”
We have to admit – the car does look pretty badass, and it’s all set to launch on International Batman Day.
