This year has seen a massive shift in the automotive landscape, but as we move our thoughts to pastures new, here are the cars coming in 2026 that are pushing full throttle into the minds of every motorhead.
What a year 2025 has been. Record-breaking car collections have been sold, robotaxis are now in full force, and BYD has completely dominated the new wave of car sales.
But while BYD celebrates its successes, the stalwarts of the industry are all preparing new entries to fight back.
So, here are the most exciting new cars coming in 2026.

The first of the cars coming in 2026 is the Honda Prelude, as the Japanese brand revives one the most beloved series it has made yet.
Debuting next year, the new hybrid car draws a lot from the Civic Type R and features an intriguing ‘fake’ shifter, but could revitalise the brand’s sports car entries moving forward.
Toyota is set to continue its push for a cleaner planet in 2026, and its hydrogen car is at the forefront of its efforts.
Having already established itself as the leading hydrogen vehicle in the world, the new 2026 Toyota Mirai launches with a huge 402-mile tank, leaving nothing but clean water dripping out of its tailpipe.
As we enter an electric era of sports cars, zipping with acceleration and showered in modern technology, the Porsche brand is moving with the times.
Both the current-gen 718 Cayman and Boxster models were retired this year in anticipation of new EVs in 2026, and it will be fascinating to see how the brand tackles this switch with a flagship car steeped in history.
The brand still seems to be in a tug of war over the powertrain of its special editions, too, adding more mystery to the future of the 718 series.
BMW’s hall of fame is decorated with aggressive sports cars that have a fear-striking front grill and sharp old-school appearances. However, the Neue Klasse of BMW EVs is switching things up significantly, with a futuristic look in the hope of reestablishing itself as the leader of this competitive market.
At the tip of the bow is the 3-Series, with the new 2026 entry promising to lead BMW into the new era.
As one of the more unusual cars coming in 2026, the Toyota FJ Cruiser has a very different look from the other cars in its fleet.
Dubbed as the ‘baby’ of the group, the small box-type SUV is built for off-roading, and will have a range of customization features for its owners to pick from.
Spearheading the popular electric SUV range in 2026 will be the Rivian R2, as its has completely taken over production at its Illinois facility.
Slated as ‘incredible’ by CEO RJ Scaringe, the company is putting many of its eggs in the R2 basket, and for good reason, as it looks to be a real beauty.
Now, now, this is what we’re talking about. Ford’s Mustang range is evolving every week, and you don’t get many better entries to its series than a Raptor.
Combining everything that Ford specializes in, the Mustang Raptor just oozes excitement, power, speed, control, and aggression.
First marketed as a concept car back in 2023, this classy sedan will be the new marquee vehicle in the Mercedes-Benz lineup for 2026.
With its design waiving slightly from the first images, the new Merc takes the sporty sedan genre to new, luxurious heights, and will be a popular choice on European roads next year.
Having launched a number of incredible sports cars in 2025, Ford is continuing to propel the brand into a new era of American muscle, as it has announced its plans for an all-new road-legal vehicle in 2026.
While it remains the most mysterious car on this list, the lack of details on this vehicle only adds to its anticipation, especially knowing that it won’t be falling under the Mustang branch or any other series, as a brand-new entry.
For decades, Bentley has established itself as one of the most luxurious brands in the world. Classy and elegant. But in 2026, it announced one of its most ambitious cars yet.
A modern electric Urban SUV is on the way. Still unnamed, it was revealed earlier this year and will spearhead the company’s wider plan of being sustainable and electric by 2035.
Genesis has set a high bar for its future cars to roll under, but its new EV looks to be up to the job.
Inspired by superyachts with curves in all the right places, the GV90 is gaining a lot of traction in the luxury EV landscape, with fans of the brand going wild over its new tech.
Finally, the Slate Truck is coming. Backed by Jeff Bezos, it comes with a lot of hype and already has thousands of preorders under its wing.
Functional, boxy, small, and affordable, yet clever, powerful, and efficient, this carefully crafted pickup will be one of the more scrutinized cars coming in 2026, but the company is confident it will deliver a successful launch.
While BYD has already won 2025, the most interesting of its 2026 entries is the Denza N9. Marking a step away from its usual electric cars, this new SUV will still come with the ‘affordable’ tag, with no expense spared on its performance and aesthetic.
The BYD plug-in hybrid is a blend of comfort and supercar prowess, as it promises 912 horsepower, 808 miles of range, and a theatre-esque interior, all for $54,000.
Honestly, to end the list of exciting cars coming in 2026, we could have picked any entry from Dongfeng, as the real beauty is in the 620-mile solid-state battery that promises to take fully-electric vehicles to the next level.
Coming next year, the new power unit will be added to Dongfeng EVs, and at the tip of those is the new Forthing, which looks like a Porsche Taycan but can drive further than anything in its sporty sedan category.
