Porsche is hard at work developing a few new electric cars, but the iconic 911 will be retaining its flat six petrol engines.
We’ve been treated to lots of new and exciting Porsche models in the last 12 months, from the most powerful 911 ever made to the new Panamera. And there’s plenty more to come over the next few years.
The biggest news is that two of Porsche’s most popular sports cars are going electric, as well as a new electric luxury SUV and some new engine technology which could save internal combustion.
Here’s a look at the most exciting new Porsche models coming before 2030.
Remember, you can buy a brand new or used car right here on Carwow. And you can sell your car, too. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.
That’s right – Porsche’s smallest and lightest sports cars are going electric very soon. Order books for the current 718 Boxster and Cayman were recently closed, making way for the future EVs.
Technical details are thin on the ground for now, but the new Boxster and Cayman EVs could use the 435hp front motor from the Mission R Concept, as well as the mid-mounted battery pack from that car. A full unveiling is expected in 2026.
Another popular Porsche to go electric is the Cayenne, but this new EV won’t replace the existing petrol-powered car – it’ll be sold alongside it. Porsche has been putting this car through its paces, with testing taking place in scorching deserts and frozen arctic roads.
It’s expected to have around 370 miles of range, and you’ll be able to get the Cayenne in both traditional SUV and swoopy coupe forms. A full reveal is rumoured to be coming in the first half of 2026.
This is the new Porsche 911 Turbo S, and it’s the most powerful 911 Porsche has ever made. The old one was no slouch, but now that twin-turbocharged flat six engine puts out 711hp thanks to a new hybrid system.
The result is 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds, 0.2 seconds quicker than the outgoing Turbo S, and there have also been some suspension tweaks to make it feel even more agile than before.

The future of the internal combustion engine has been in doubt for the past few years as we move towards cleaner and greener electric cars. However, Porsche is working on something which could save the petrol engine for years to come.
Back in 2024 it filed a patent for a six-stroke engine. You can read about this more in-depth in our story, but in short it runs cleaner and more efficiently by scavenging unburnt fuel left behind in the cylinders. Combine this with Porsche’s investment in synthetic fuels, and the next 911 could still be using petrol engines well into the 2030s.
