Breaking News: Thieves flee with two new cars after nightime break in to Security Dodge

Amityville Village Police are investigating a burglary that occurred at Security Dodge at 345 Merrick Road, during the early morning hours of Nov. 7. Police gave this account.
At approximately 2:33 a.m., a commercial alarm was activated at the car dealership. Reporting officers, Ryan Onderdonk and Brian Governanti, advised dispatch that there was a break-in and requested that Suffolk County canine units respond to the scene.
The building was cleared and a review of the businesses’ surveillance footage showed a suspect wearing a hooded sweat shirt and mask enter the dealership. Once inside he stole a green Dodge SRT Hellcat. A second subject stole a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, white. Both fled in the vehicles.
Amityville Police contacted detectives in the First Precinct who also responded. Also assisting at the scene were Officers Collin Mullin, Harold C. Miller, Luis Checo, Joseph N. Slack and Justin McElmoyl.
