Like the original, this Light Yellow Porsche 911 S/T has white roundels and sponsorship decals
Until the (rumored) GT2 RS arrives, the Porsche 911 S/T will remain the ultimate, limited-edition version of the 992-generation car, blending components from the GT3 and GT3 RS into a relatively subtle and understated package. We’ve seen plenty of striking S/Ts delivered to owners, but of them all, this example may be the most interesting.
The origins of this brand new 911 S/T actually date back to 1972. That year, an original 911 2.5 S/T was modified for racing use and emerged victorious in its class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This car was painted in a shade of Light Yellow and includes ‘41’ roundels on the doors as well as several sponsorship stickers.

After the car’s racing success, it slipped into obscurity, eventually stored away and left to suffer in a San Francisco barn. In 2013, a Swiss collector discovered the car and assigned Porsche Classic to fully restore it. So, when Porsche announced the modern-day 911 S/T, it was only natural for a Swiss buyer to order the new car and, through the Sonderwunsch program, perfectly mimic the specification of the original.
Just like the original, the new car is finished in the same shade of Light Yellow, which has not been available from Porsche for several decades. A set of forged magnesium wheels in a Darksilver finish was then fitted, in front of black brake calipers.
The Sonderwunsch team then applied the same roundels as the original, while also perfectly replicating all of the sponsorship decals. The only thing missing is the extra rally-inspired headlights of the 1972 model.
There’s no word on how much the owner paid for this very special 911 S/T, but the standard model started at a cool $290,000. It’s safe to assume this buyer spent six figures to get all the custom touches made to it.
