The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls for vehicles last week, including notices for nearly 400,000 Toyota vehicles.

Here’s what you need to know about the vehicle recalls published by NHTSA from Oct. 6 to Oct. 12:
Toyota recalled certain vehicles as a software error may cause the rearview image not to display when the they are placed in reverse.
The recall covers certain 2022-2025 Tundra, Tundra Hybrid, and 2023-2025 Sequoia Hybrid vehicles.
The error occurs after camera data processing becomes unsynchronized when the camera view is changed. The display can show a half green, full green or full black screen, according to the recall report.
Dealers are to update the multimedia display software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are to be mailed Nov. 16.

Hyundai recalled certain 2024-2025 Santa Fe vehicles as an improperly installed part may cause an electrical short during a crash.
An improperly installed B+ positive terminal covers on the starter motor assembly could come into contact with the cooling fan assembly in certain crash scenarios, according to the recall report. In those scenarios, the contact between the two parts could cause an electrical short.
Dealers are to inspect and reinstall the starter motor terminal cover for free. Owner notification letters are to be mailed Dec. 1.
Affected vehicles: 135,386
Stellantis recalled certain 2020-2025 Alfa Romeo Giulia and Alfa Romeo Stelvio vehicles as the rearview camera may have hardware and software defects.
The recall report points to a printed circuit board hole as well as software stability issues for the error that causes the recalled vehicles’ display to “display a blank/black/blue or inverted screen.”
Dealers are to inspect and replace the radio update the rearview camera software, for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Nov. 25.

Toyota recalled certain 2025 Sienna Hybrid vehicles as their second-row seat rails may be welded improperly.
The recalled vehicles my have certain seat rails contain welds that are not fully penetrated due to a changed setting of a welding machine during assembly, according to the recall report. A weld that is not fully penetrated in the seat rail assembly can lead to a loss of structural integrity in high speed crashes.
Dealers are to replace the second-row seat rails, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed Nov. 21, with follow up notices sent when a remedy is available.
