A man has tragically died following a crash in the East Riding of Yorkshire this morning (Friday).
Sid Sefton, 23, had been driving his blue Ford vehicle on the B1230 towards Gilberdyke, near Howden, before the vehicle left the road and collided with a tree.
Officers said the crash happened at 3.20am on Friday, November 21. He was taken to hospital after emergency vehicles attended the scene but sadly died a short while later.
A Humberside Police spokesman said: "Officers are appealing for information after a 23-year-old man, who has been named by his family as Sid Sefton, died following a single-vehicle collision on the B1230 during the early hours of this morning (Friday, 21 November 2025).
"It is reported at around 3.20am, the driver of a blue Ford was travelling eastbound on the B1230 towards Gilberdyke before it is believed to have left the road and collided with a tree. Emergency services attended and Sid was taken to hospital to receive treatment but passed away a short while later.
"Our thoughts remain with Sid’s family, who are being supported by specialist trained officers at this incredibly difficult time. We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or has dashcam footage that may assist our enquiries, to please contact our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 38 of November 21."
