LOGAN COUNTY, OKLA. (KOKH) — Two Deer Creek High School students are dead after a car crash in Logan County on Monday night.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) responded to W. Charter Oak Road between May and Penn near Deer Creek just after 8 p.m., where a vehicle carrying 4 female juveniles left the roadway and hit a bridge guardrail, crashing into a creek bed.
A report from OHP notes that the driver is 17 years old. Three other passengers were in the car. Two of the girls passed away, a third is critically injured, and the driver has minor injuries, according to OHP.
The girls' ages range from 17 years old to 14 years old, according to officials.
The investigation is still in the early stages. Officials are looking into what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
Deer Creek School District released a statement on Tuesday saying additional counselors and staff are available for students and staff.
