Drivers have been urged to plan ahead
THE M6 and M42 have ground to a halt after a horror crash and huge car fire with drivers hit with six miles of traffic and hour-long delays.
The M6 is closed northbound between Junction 3 for Nuneaton and Junction 3a for the M42 in Warwickshire, say National Highways.

The travel agency said it was due to a collision with debris on the road.
They added that drivers can expect a 60 minute delay with up to six miles of congestion.
Drivers have also been warned of a crash on the M6 southbound near Castle Bromwich, according to West Midlands Roads.
Elsewhere, the M42 is shut southbound between Junction 11 at Burton-upon-Trent and Junction 10 in Tamworth, Warwickshire.

Traffic was completely stopped earlier this morning due to car fire with Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service at the scene.
They have successfully extinguished the blaze with recovery and clean up work ongoing.
One lane of two currently remains closed and drivers have been urged to plan ahead.
