Police said Dallas Fire-Rescue arrived and took them to a local hospital, where they died.
Investigators said the drivers of both cars were also taken to the hospital.
They said two elderly women were in one car: a 92-year-old who was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and a 79-year-old.
The latest news from around North Texas.
They said a 23-year-old man was in the second vehicle and was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
Police said they are still investigating the crash but a witness said he saw two elderly women in their car trying to make a turn when they were hit.
“I see this car speeding through the light. These two elderly ladies were making a left-hand turn from the middle lane,” explained Blake Bowman, who works at the Car Spa just a few feet away. “The car clips them, goes off the road and hits two pedestrians.”
“I just seen out of the corner of my eye, something go flying,” Bowman said.
He said a customer at the spa sprinted toward the scene, and he ran after him.
“I was honestly just hoping everybody was alright. I saw a lot of ambulances pull up and it just didn’t seem alright,” Bowman said.
He didn’t find out the outcome, he said, until speaking with NBC 5 on Friday morning.
“Very heartbroken. Because, I mean, they were just walking. They had nothing to do with the whole accident. It was just wrong time, wrong place,” he said.
He and others say it’s not uncommon to see accidents and near-misses in the area.
“It’s almost every other day or sometimes it happens two times in a row, you know,” said Sam Benavidez, who works at a St. Jude’s donation drop-off nearby.
“Always accidents. You hear a horn honking and the next thing you hear, just foom. Hit,” he said.
Benavidez said knowing that two pedestrians were killed makes him even more uneasy.
“Unsafe, weary,” he said.
Dallas Police said they are still investigating how the crash happened.
