Two people were injured after a car ran a red light and collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Beacon Street and St. Paul Street on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
Police responded at about 3:20 p.m. after reports of a crash, according to Paul Campbell, a deputy superintendent at the Brookline Police Department.

Two people were taken to the hospital with injuries that appeared to be minor and not life-threatening, according to Campbell. Both were conscious, alert and talking on scene.
Campbell said the crash remains under investigation, and that there will be a citation issued for a red light violation.
Katherine Haenschen, who lives nearby and witnessed the crash, told Brookline.News that one of the cars smashed into another in the middle of the intersection, so fast that it was hard to tell where they came from.
They skidded toward the sidewalk after colliding, and a pedestrian who had been waiting to cross the street had to jump out of the way, Haenschen said.
A video posted to social media by Brookline police showed two damaged SUVs sitting partially on the sidewalk on the south side of the intersection, near 1223 Beacon Street.
Haenschen said from her home nearby, she hears screeching tires in the intersection about once a week, and collisions multiple times a year.
