At around 12.40pm the Markusberg Tunnel was shut in both directions due to a car that caught fire inside the tunnel. There were traffic jams forming in both directions. Cars were seen reversing out of traffic on the motorway.
One lane has now been opened in both directions with a 70km/h speed limit. The Schengen exit towards Petange is still shut.
