Two Romans, identified as Lamont Cornett, 62, and Rhonda Cornett, 60, both of Rome, were killed in a multiple vehicle accident on North Broad Street Saturday morning. Reports said that a driver of a white 2018 Volvo XC90 , driven by Jennifer Leigh Pacholick, 50 of Rome, was driving northbound at a high rate of speed when she clipped a Ford Edge, driven by Ralph Tripp, of Calhoun, near North Rome Church of God.
Pacholick then continued to drive before crashing into a white Hyundai SUV driven by Cornett, who was stopped at the red light on North Avenue.
Floyd County coroner Jodan Pierson pronounced the Cornetts deceased at the scene.
 Patcholick was sent to a local hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
Charges are pending.
