Oppenheim, N.Y. —A child was fatally injured Saturday afternoon when a driver backing up a car lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a home in Fulton County, according to State Police
The accident happened at about 4:36 p.m. on Keyser Lake Road in Oppenheim, according to a State Police news release issued Sunday. The crash happened about 35 miles east of Utica.
The vehicle struck the child, who was standing outside, and crashed into the house, troopers said.
The child sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
Troopers, who are still investigating the accident, did not release further details of the crash.
