SALEM, NH — The shooting suspect involved in the Brown University mass shooting on Saturday was found dead inside a Salem storage facility, according to reports.
Several news outlets are reporting that the suspect was found dead in Salem after tracing him to a Nissan Sentra at the facility. The suspect, who has not been identified, rented space at the ExtraSpace Storage facility on Hampshire Road in Salem. Two students were killed and nine others were injured during the incident on Saturday during a final exam session at the Ivy League school.
The suspect was identified as Claudio Neves Valenti, a 48-year-old Portuguese national from Miami, Florida. Valenti was found dead with a satchel with two guns inside, according to the FBI.
Investigators also believe the killing of Nuno Loureiro, 47, also of Portugal, an MIT professor, who was found dead in Brookline, Massachusetts, on Monday, is connected to the mass shooting at Brown University.
Fox 25, as well as posts on X-Twitter, were the first to report the vehicle, a gray Nissan Sentra, which was associated with a person of interest in the killings.

According to WBZ-TV , the car was reportedly rented, and authorities believe it was in the vicinity of Loureiro’s apartment before he was killed.
According to reports, the suspect has not been named, and his information has not been released. This afternoon, the Brown University mass shooting investigation led police to Massachusetts. Later, state police reportedly found the vehicle in Salem, NH.
Police released images of two people of interest in the mass shooting case. The second person, whose photo was released on Wednesday, was described as being in the area of the first person at the time of the shootings.
Just before 8 p.m., Salem police posted a note on Facebook confirming that the department was assisting federal agencies with an active, ongoing investigation. Police advised people to stay away from the area and report anything suspicious, even though they believed no one was in danger.
