JACKSON HEIGHTS, Queens (WABC) — A 22-year-old man is selling his dream out on the streets of New York: his Venezuelan Chinese fried rice recipe that has gone viral.
Yony Hung's pop-ups are so popular, New Yorkers line up down the block.
It's even attracted stars like Latin singer J Balvin, and people who live in the city, who were missing home.
Hung was born in Venezuela to Chinese parents. But it was here that he perfected the fusion dish combining traditional Chinese fried rice with Venezuelan flavors.
But things are going to look a little different for the man with the famous rice in just a couple of weeks.
Right now, he's selling out the rice out of the back of his car, but he's set to open a restaurant in Madrid. He said he hopes to open another restaurant in New York City in the new year.
Before he leaves the country in a few days, he'll continue the craze in the Big Apple with a couple more pop-ups.
