Video of a six-car crash is going viral nearly a decade later — and with good reason.
The crash, which occurred in Kent, Michigan, took place eight years ago. Shockingly, all of the cars involved were Ford Fiestas, including one driven by TikTok user liamrondi, according to the post.
In a post on the popular social media app that has 4 million likes, liamrondi said, “think there are genuinely higher chances of winning the lottery than finding myself in a six-car Fiesta centipede.”
Ford built the Fiesta as a subcompact, or supermini, car from 1976 to 2023.
The Dearborn, Michigan, manufacturer made seven generations of the car, with the most recent iteration premiering in 2017.
Ford announced its decision to discontinue the Fiesta in 2022, citing its plans at the time to transition to building more electric cars in Europe.
“As we say #FarewellFiesta, I’m grateful for our many Fiesta fans around the world & everyone at @Fordthat built 22 million vehicles over five decades,” Ford CEO Jim Farley said in a post on X. “It’s sad to see Fiesta go, but we’re excited for the next generation of electric vehicles soon to be produced in Europe.”
Ford has since announced a retreat from many of its electric car plans as demand for plug-in models in the United States has faded and the federal government has pulled back support for the transition to the technology under President Donald Trump.
Here’s how the vehicle’s sales fared in the decade before it was discontinued, according to the website goodcarbadcar.net:
