NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – New Orleans police need help identifying and locating a person of interest in connection with an arson investigation.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, the incident occurred early Jan. 19 around 1:48 a.m., in the 700 block of Montegut Street, where officers found a vehicle on fire.
Officers were then called to reports of two additional vehicles burning and a structure fire in the 3100 block of Dauphine Street. Shortly afterward, police responded to reports of three more vehicles on fire in the 800 block of Desire Street.
A seventh vehicle fire was later reported in the 900 block of Desire Street.
The New Orleans Fire Department and an arson investigator also responded to the scenes. No injuries were reported.
Police said surveillance video captured an individual believed to be a person of interest in the case. The individual is not currently wanted on criminal charges, but detectives believe the person may have information critical to the investigation and are seeking to interview them.
