A man wanted over an armed robbery has died after a head-on collision with a truck in Canberra, minutes after a police pursuit.
ACT police said a silver Audi was driving on the wrong side of the road when it crashed into an oncoming truck on the Gungahlin Drive slip lane to the Barton Highway around 12:15pm.
Both vehicles were mangled in the crash, with the truck flipping on its roof.
Police said the driver of the car had to be cut from the vehicle.
He was treated at the scene and was taken to hospital, but died a short time later.
Police said the truck driver was "quite shaken up" but suffered only minor injuries.
Detective Acting Superintendent Anthony Brown said the car had been involved in a string of incidents earlier in the day, including an armed robbery at a Dickson currency exchange.
"We had engaged that vehicle in a pursuit earlier today [at Belconnen] but that had been terminated and we lost the vehicle at the time," he said.

Detectives said they had yet to formally identify the man and were still looking into whether the Audi was stolen.
Police are also investigating his involvement in multiple stolen car incidents and a burglary.
"We'll continue to investigate both the criminal aspects of this and the collision and we will present a report to the coroner," Superintendent Brown said.
"If anyone else is involved, we will hopefully have criminal charges."
Police have appealed for anyone with information or dash-cam footage to come forward.
