2025 saw a little bit of everything as automakers started shifting their focus away from EVs
2025 is coming to a close and that means it’s time to take a look back on the past 12 months. A lot has happened, but we’ll kick things off by asking our readers what was the best new car introduced this year.
There’s no shortage of options as Chevrolet introduced the 2027 Bolt as well as the 1,250 hp Corvette ZR1X. Likewise, Cadillac expanded their electric vehicle lineup with the Escalade IQL, Optiq-V, and Lyriq-V.
More: Are We Entering A New Era Of Badge Engineering?
While Ford and Lincoln didn’t have much of note, Stellantis brought back the Hemi in the 2026 Ram 1500. The company also unveiled the new Jeep Cherokee and Recon as well as the facelifted Grand Cherokee and Grand Wagoneer. On the higher-end, the MCPura was introduced as an MC20 successor – although it’s basically a light facelift.
Speaking of foreign brands, Honda unveiled the new Prelude and an updated Pilot. We also got a new CR-V TrailSport, although it’s less rugged than the name suggests.
Nissan gifted us a crossover-ified Leaf and a significantly improved Sentra. On top of that, they unveiled a badge engineered Rogue Plug-in Hybrid, a tweaked Pathfinder, and an all-new Micra for Europe.
Toyota and Subaru churned out a number of badge engineered EVs including the C-HR / Uncharted and Trailseeker / bZ Touring. The former brand also introduced the new RAV4 and Land Cruiser FJ as well as the flagship GR GT.
Their luxury counterparts at Lexus brought us an updated RZ and an all-new ES. We also got a revamped IS, although the V8 is sadly dead.
Rounding out some of the other debuts are the Audi Q3, Aston Martin Vantage S, and Mazda CX-5. We were also graced by the new BMW iX3 and M2 CS as well as the Mercedes CLA, GLB, and GLC EQ.
Those are just a few examples, but what do you think was the best vehicle introduced this year?
