An 80-year-old Wheeling woman was critically injured when she was struck by a vehicle late Friday morning near the intersection of Dundee Road and Lake Boulevard in Buffalo Grove.
Buffalo Grove police said the woman was struck just before noon in the eastbound lanes of Dundee Road.
She was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Medical Center in Park Ridge in critical condition, authorities said.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the woman was uninjured and is cooperating with investigators.
Dundee Road was shut down for more than three hours, police said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
