Another woman, aged 75, and an 81-year-old man have been taken to hospital.
An elderly woman has died after being struck by a car in Fife.
Two others have been taken to hospital following the incident took place on Aberdour High Street at around 10am on Thursday morning.
The crash involved one car and two pedestrians.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the 82-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another female pedestrian, aged 75, and the driver of the vehicle, an 81-year-old man, were taken to hospital for treatment.
Aberdour High Street has been closed as investigations take place and motorists have been asked to avoid the area.
Police are asking witnesses to come forward.
Sergeant Tom Aitken said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and I would ask anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened to get in touch.
“Similarly, any drivers in the area with dash-cam footage that may assist should contact us.
“Please contact police on 101.”
