One woman is dead after a crash that occurred early Sunday morning in Raleigh.
Raleigh police officers arrived to the intersection of Six Forks and Lassiter Mill roads around 2:45 a.m. They found a white pickup truck with frontend damage and a Dodge Journey.
Upon investigation, officers identified 22-year-old Nazirah Eason as the person who died. She was ejected from the Dodge onto the lanes of Six Forks Road. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
Officers determined Eason didn’t stop at the red light and collided with the pickup truck, adding that she was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The accident closed the intersection of Six Forks Road and Lassiter Mill Road near a popular North Hills shopping center. As of 12:30 p.m., the road appears to be cleared and reopened.
Officers said no charges will be filed. They did not say if there were any other injuries involved in this crash.
