A woman was killed in a morning crash that also left a child with injuries.
The wreck happened at 6:30 a.m. Friday in the 4800 block of Pinson Valley Parkway.
Center Point Fire District Chief Brandon Dahlen said the collision happened between a car and dump truck.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene. Her identity has not yet been released.
Center Point Fire transported the child to Children’s of Alabama.
The fatal wreck shut down that portion of the roadway for at least five hours.
The crash remains under investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.
