A young motorcyclist has tragically died after a fatal collision with a car on a busy Scots road.
Emergency crews raced to the A803 near Linlithgow Bridge at around 8.35pm on Friday September 19 after receiving reports of a crash involving a Kawasaki EX400 motorbike and a Citroen C1 car.
Upon attendance, the 23-year-old female rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The 36-year-old male driver of the car was checked over at the crash site and the road was closed while police carried out their investigations.
Sergeant Thomas Aitken, of Road Policing East, said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died at this difficult time.
"Our enquiries are ongoing and I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch.
"Drivers who were in the Linlithgow area at the time shortly before the crash are also asked to check their dash-cam footage to see if it has captured anything of significance for our investigation.”
Tributes have since flooded in for the 23-year-old motorcyclist. Karen Davidson wrote: "Oh such a sad outcome. Sending deepest condolences to the young lady’s family and love to everyone involved."
Rab Mullin said: "So sad to hear this. I was heading into work at the airport last night and I saw all the blue lights heading the other way. My condolences to the bikers family and friends."
